Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) Levels 2, 3 and 5

Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber Training offers the Award, Certificate and Diploma at levels 3 and 5. The level studied is based upon an individual’s job role and previous knowledge. The duration depends upon the route taken, ranging from 4 weeks up to 12 months. Work based assignments will be assessed to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding. Attendance is typically 1 day per week or half day and twilight.
This qualification is designed for new and aspiring team leaders offering an in-depth introduction to the role and its responsibilities. This is a nationally recognised qualification – the ideal launch pad for your management career. Course outline includes:
- Develop the core skills to lead a team successfully
- Understand the importance of communication in effective team leading
- Develop an understanding of effective planning and monitoring of work
- Understand the tools to develop yourself as a leader
The ILM Level 3 is a first line management course which gives an introduction to the basic skills, knowledge, and understanding required by today's first line manager.
The course covers the following areas:
- Communication
- Organisational structure
- Effective working relationships
- Improving team performance
- Recruitment & selection
The ILM Level 5 qualifications are designed to develop a comprehensive range of middle management skills, enabling individuals to gain the knowledge required at this level.
As the programmes are based at Level 5, successful completion of the Award, Certificate or Diploma will provide module exemptions on follow up courses, such as the Foundation Degree in Leadership and Management.
